Text × Sound = ∞ Vol.1

Zen Rabbits Lab is an independent music collective founded on the ethos of “Modern Sound × Ancient Wisdom.”

As AI-generated vocals reshape the music landscape, our debut album, Text × Sound = ∞ Vol.1 (經聲實驗), offers a human-centred alternative—placing the presence, warmth, and organic resonance of real voices at the core of its sonic experimentation.

Led by vocalists WuLin and PASH, the album brings together an international group of collaborators, including Chinese bamboo flutist Shih-Yu Liu, Malaysian pianist Jaron Khor, crossover flutist Royi Lin, and Taiwan Golden Melody Award winners Ken Chou and Zen Chien.

Text × Sound = ∞ Vol.1 deconstructs and reimagines four iconic Buddhist texts: the Shurangama Mantra and what we frame as the Avalokiteshvara Trilogy—the Universal Gate Chapter, Great Compassion Mantra, and Heart Sutra.

Blending ancient Buddhist scriptures and sacred Sanskrit chants with contemporary pop production through a diverse range of expressions—including traditional Chinese instruments like the dizi and guzheng, alongside piano, hip-hop, jazz, and electronic elements—the album perfectly embodies the cross-cultural and cross-regional experimental ethos of World Fusion and World Music.

Moving between electroacoustic sound design and traditional instrumentation, the album treats the human voice as both a carrier of sacred meaning and raw musical material. Chant, breath, tone, and vocal texture transform ceremonial scriptures into intimate listening experiences for everyday life.

The album functions as both a conceptual statement and a cohesive avant-garde journey, bridging Buddhist tradition with contemporary sound. Through the living presence of the human voice, Zen Rabbits Lab invites listeners across languages, cultures, and beliefs into a shared sonic space of calm, compassion, clarity, and inner reflection.
