Written between the ages of 19 and 24, this collection of five songs reflects my journey as an Asian artist navigating identity, culture, and sound. Deeply influenced by American pop music — from indie to disco to rap — I aim to bridge East and West, blending heartfelt storytelling with genre-crossing production.
Expressing myself is the most important part of being an artist. Making music is where I feel most free and most honest — it's my most natural way of reflecting, feeling, and connecting. These songs are deeply personal, and writing them has helped me understand myself in ways nothing else could.
Growing up between cultures, music became my personal language — a way to explore freedom, femininity, queerness, and joy. “Barbie Boy” is a proud celebration of LGBTQ+ identity and feminist values, while “Summerfall” and “Summer Song” offer vulnerable glimpses into youth and longing. “Hot Kiss” and “Missing Anthem” lean into bold, danceable confidence with a disco-pop edge.
In addition to music, I’m also a filmmaker and visual designer. These practices help me shape a distinct artistic identity and create immersive visual worlds around my music.
These five songs aren’t just tracks — they’re chapters of becoming. I hope they speak to anyone who's ever tried to find themselves in between places. Submitted for Best Indie Pop Music and Best Male Artist, this body of work is my cross-cultural pop diary — and the most honest expression of who I am.
