Anna Maria Mendieta’s “TANGO DEL CIELO” - A Multimedia Music & Dance Production!

With standing ovations nationwide, concert harpist Anna Maria Mendieta presents “Tango Del Cielo” (Tango of Heaven), an exciting program full of surprises and appropriate for all ages.

Leading you through the tight turns, dips, and smoky cafes of Argentina, the Bullfights of Spain, the jungles of Brazil, and with a tribute to the Silent Films, performances feature international award-winning musicians and dancers of both Tango & Flamenco. Music is from Anna Maria’s new award-winning album “Tango Del Cielo” with Argentine Tango, Flamenco, Classical, and Latin Jazz with Harp, Strings, Percussion, Tango & Flamenco Dance.

The program presents a dynamic musical concert with the addition of dance, film art, lighting, sets, props, and charming vignettes. To enhance the music, dancers gracefully enter when least expected to intrigue and delight; backdrops come alive to tell a story of their own with film and effects. In connecting the past with the present, tradition with innovation, and the serious with the playful, the show features a special tribute to Hollywood’s Golden Age of Silent Films when tango was first introduced to the United States. Film clips of Rudolph Valentino & Nita Naldi (Anna Maria’s great aunt), Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy as well as swashbuckling scenes from Zorro add to the many visual surprises!
