Water Rings

"Water Rings" is the new cd of the Italian guitarist and songwriter Cosimo Erario. It is an instrumental album composed and played entirely on a baritone acoustic guitar. The listener can expect stylistically diverse fingerstyle compositions ranging from grooving blues numbers with sophisticated impressionistic sprinkles to mood pictures like "Wish you the best" or "Time" to sound paintings a la "Mare mosso". It surprised the composer with harmonic turns that are close to modern acoustic jazz from Coryell/Catherine to Metheny and really make every piece exciting. The composer knows very well how to let his instrument shimmer in many colors to match the music. That's why this album works, can be listened to in one go and is a very successful homage to the baritone guitar.
