Album "The Singing Piano" by Zhihua Hu

“The Singing Piano” is Zhihua Hu‘s original new album, featuring her piano performances of all works presented at the album’s live music sharing event. Several of the pieces are newly arranged solo-piano versions of works originally composed by Hu for chamber ensembles.

The program includes “Vocalise – Ave Maria & Prelude in C Major”, “Ruyi Niang”, the three-movement work ”Autumn Wind” I. Autumn, II. Wind, and III. Missing…, and Flower Guardian.

Particularly noteworthy is Vocalise – Ave Maria & Prelude in C Major, an original arrangement combining Charles Gounod’s Ave Maria with Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude in C Major from The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I. Zhihua Hu incorporates her voice alongside the piano, creating an intimate dialogue between vocal expression and instrumental color.

Through “The Singing Piano”, Zhihua Hu explores the expressive possibilities of the piano as both a solo instrument and a lyrical voice, transforming her chamber-music repertoire into intimate solo-piano interpretations.
