Tokyo City Pop “Portrait” is a concept album crafted around the theme of “NEO TOKYO CITY POP.”
Composed by Kanako Hara, the album pays homage to the original city pop sounds of the 1970s and 80s through detailed production, including vintage-inspired guitar, bass, drums, synthesizers, electric piano tones, and subtle effects.
It’s a modern reimagining of classic city pop, blending nostalgic textures with a fresh musical perspective unique to Kanako Hara.
