The Symphony Capriccio is in five movements: Allegro, Serenade, Scherzo, Soliloquy, and Finale. The work is neo-classical and formal in its structure, but its themes are more free-flowing and capricious in
style. The work is cyclical in nature, as the Finale movement reinstates some of
the themes of the previous movements, including a theme originally stated by the
English horn that is played with a full orchestra rendition, ending the symphony in
a climactic fashion. The work was premiered on April 1, 2021, by the Symphonic Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of the Republic of Moldova. Mihail Agafita is the principal conductor. Moldova is a small Eastern European country between Romania and Ukraine.
