In classical music, fantasy, with its many interpretations, has played a significant role in shaping music history since the 16th century. In fantasy is the search for freedom. The interactive tension between impression and expression, between real perception and dreamlike images. The romantic heart yearns away. The CD "GLOAMING" - Fantasies for Piano by the 'Young Steinway Artist' Maximilian Schairer, with works by Beethoven - Schubert - Mendelssohn Bartholdy is a sound journey with world-famous, rarely played and unfinished piano works of the Classic-Romantic epoch, which besides a reference to nature find their nucleus in Beethoven's famous 'Moonlight Sonata'. Inspired by Mendelssohn Bartholdy's 'Scottish Sonata' op. 28, "GLOAMING" (Scottish: "twilight") symbolizes in the recorded pieces the melancholic basic mood with inspirational impulses flashing up again and again. Here the composers and their lyrical selves are searching for answers to extra-musical and musical questions. Beethoven's lesser-known and unfinished Fantasy for Piano Unv12 concludes as a kind of “Gloaming Chrystal“ (“shining gem“), the sound journey of this recording.
The pianist Maximilian Schairer has won several first prizes at festivals and competitions in Europe and the USA. He has performed in concert halls and festivals, in Europe, Indonesia and USA. He made his orchestral-debut at the age of 12 with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and his studio recording-debut with BR-Klassik with Bach's French Suite in E major. He enchants audiences with his "heart, multifaceted wit, and great color of tone and personality" in solo, chamber music and orchestral concerts, including with the Stuttgart Philharmonic under Jan Willem de Vriend and Dan Ettinger. As a chamber music partner, he performs with various ensembles, including the ensemble of the Stuttgart State Orchestra. Social commitment at charity concerts is just as important to him as inspiring young audiences for classical music at school workshops. His chamber music debut-CD "Clair de Lune" was released in 2021 under "bella musica-THOROFON" and was recorded by BR-Klassik, SWR2 and rbb-Kultur. Currently, his solo debut-CD "GLOAMING" in coproduction with BR-Klassik and Hänssler Classic is out now. // www.maximilianschairer.de // @maximilianschairermusic
