True Blue

A short while ago I was approached by a group of individuals that were involved in a movie project about the life and passing of Stevie Ray Vaughan, they asked me to be part of it and they sent me the 1st part of a professional script, it was impressive so I was very excited, the first conversation on the phone with the executive producer I was asked to a write and record a song that would be played at the point of the of the movie when the helicopter crash occurred and Stevie lost his life, this producer was impressed with my blues savvy and was willing to take a shot that I would do something with merit, I was also asked to do the closeups/fingering parts to be edited into the movie, this was a very flattering request so the afternoon I received the call I was understandably inspired in a big way so the lyrics to a song I titled “True Blue” poured right of my heart and soul and the music was just pure blues fueled by my love for the genre and respect for Mr Vaughan, ultimately this project never came to pass I was told that his brother Jimmy asked far to much for the rights, anyway I did this song for the potential of this project coming to fruition and at the end of the day I’m left with a beautiful track and a sincere tribute that I am honored to share.
